None but Shining hours

Husband and I took a mini trip home to So-Cal to attend a family wedding (family on his side). The Groom was one of husband's cousins and the guests were primarily family members. As for the wedding itself it was beautiful and probably the nicest I've been to (other than my own of course :) ). But what struck me the most about this wedding were the people who were there-the new "family" that I had married into. I left that evening after dancing, laughing, drinking, and just having a good time thanking God for how incredibly blessed I am to be a part of such a remarkable family.

1 Year Later.

Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have
to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any
fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they
find that they are one tree and not two.

Our anniversary weekend in Tahoe was great. Thank you to all who supported us in this crazy year. Husband and I are so happy that life has finally somewhat slowed down and we can just be. Weve grown so much over this year and I cant believe all that has happened. Its been amazing.

De Young

Chhihuly mom!

Dear Bank of America;
Thank you so much for kindly paying for our tickets to the fabulous De Young Museum. We greatly appreciate the gesture and wanted you to know that we are a little bit more enlightened after our brief tour of the arts. Lunch was great too.

Lands End Trail

Last month we took a family hike through the acclaimed Lands End Trail. It was incredibly windy and we spent most of the day trying to keep warm...but the views were well worth it. The trail begins by the Cliff house and the old Sutro baths. We took the short route and stopped at the Legion of Honor Museum. There was a Maze at the end of our hike (you find them all around the city at parks etc-they are built by a famous local ).

I know its a little late...

Halloween has come & gone, but this picture is just too cute not to share.
Nelson's first Halloween..he was really grossed out after having been in the pumpkin. He spent the next thirty minutes trying to clean himself of pumpkin guts.

My in-laws threw a birthday party for the newest additions to the family. It was a great day and of course my talented brother in law was there to take amazing photos.
